Adam Steffens

We are excited to welcome Adam Steffens-Smienk! Originally from Minneapolis, Minnesota and now based in Jupiter, Florida, Adam is an accomplished Grand Prix dressage rider dedicated to developing young horses and producing confident, capable riders.
With years of training under top Olympians and experience representing the United States on the world stage, Adam brings thoughtful horsemanship and a passion for developing horses from promising prospects to the Grand Prix arena.
Daryl Kinney

We, along with Ad Astra Eventing, are excited to welcome Daryl Kinney! Based in Southern Pines, North Carolina, Daryl is an upper-level event rider and trainer who has successfully produced multiple horses through the Advanced level. She previously trained at and managed Tamarack Hill Farm for her mentor, Denny Emerson.
Daryl brings a lighthearted, encouraging approach to teaching, meeting riders where they are and fostering confidence and progress at every stage of their horse’s training.

Cyril’s education from the French National School of Riding gives him a unique background that sets him apart as he trains and teaches following the principles of the French riding tradition. By emphasizing the harmonious relationship between horse and rider, the tradition prioritizes the horse's well being and willingness to work without using constraint or force. The ultimate goal is achieving lightness of aids and movement.

Emily Miles

We are excited to welcome Emily Miles! Based in Paola, Kansas, Emily is an accomplished dressage rider, trainer, and breeder with a lifelong passion for developing horses and riders through thoughtful horsemanship and strong fundamentals.
Having grown up on her family’s breeding farm, Emily has spent her career producing talented horses from the ground up, often riding and training homebreds all the way to the national and international stage. Alongside her mother, Jana, Emily has earned numerous national championships, including titles in the U25/Brentina Cup along with multiple Young Horse and Developing Horse divisions on self-trained horses.
Emily has proudly represented the United States at the World Championships in Verden, Germany and Ermelo, Netherlands with WakeUp, Sole Mio, and Daily Show. She is passionate about helping riders better understand their horses and enjoys sharing her knowledge through training and clinics, always emphasizing that there is something to learn from every horse and rider.
Katherine Abrams

CSDEA will be hosting Katherine Abrams for an upcoming clinic at Scenic River Farms! Katherine brings extensive experience in competitive dressage along with a thoughtful, horse-centered approach to training and instruction.
Having successfully developed two of her own horses to the FEI level, Katherine combines high-level competitive experience with a passion for developing horses and riders through correct, progressive training. She currently trains with Olympian Allison Brock and has also studied with respected professionals including JJ Tate, Michael Barisone, Linda Zang, and Pati Pierucci.
Katherine has started and produced many horses herself and is especially skilled at developing horses of diverse breeds, backgrounds, and experience levels. Known for her positive teaching style, deep understanding of biomechanics and theory, and creative approach to problem solving, she is a favorite among riders of all ages and goals.
Whether riders are looking to strengthen their fundamentals or pursue serious competition goals, Katherine is passionate about helping horse and rider partnerships grow confidently through the levels.
Kim Gentry

We are excited to host Kim Gentry for yet another Bit & Bridle Fitting Clinic! Known for her incredibly popular fitting clinics and thoughtful approach to horse comfort and performance, Kim brings riders a valuable opportunity to better understand the connection between tack fit, communication, and overall rideability.
Kim is highly sought after for her hands-on clinics that allow riders to try a wide variety of bits and bridles during guided one-on-one sessions. Her clinics combine practical education with individualized support, helping riders better understand what works best for their horse’s anatomy, comfort, and way of going.
Kim works with many of the industry’s leading brands including Herm Sprenger, Neue Schule, Bomber, Trust, and Myler bits, along with anatomical bridles from Otto Schumacher, Bridle2Fit, Tota Comfort System, Passier, and Schockemöhle. She believes that proper bit and bridle fit can significantly improve both comfort and performance for many horses.
These clinics are structured to be welcoming, educational, and highly beneficial for riders of all levels. Kim also encourages trainer/student combinations, creating a comfortable learning environment that feels much like a regular lesson while offering the opportunity to explore new equipment and solutions.
